Your VetRep Review
The Parlor is back! This coming Saturday will be the first showing of “The Absurdity of it All” by Chris Soucy, a VetRep Resident Artist. Chris is an Army veteran, co-founder of Odd Lot Improv and the Savannah Shakes Theater Company, and has worked as an actor, puppeteer, writer, director, and filmmaker, with over 30 years of experience in the theater industry. We are thrilled to produce “The Absurdity of it All”, as the first full-length play written for VetRep by a Resident Artist, promising a truly unique performance you can’t get anywhere else. Get your tickets before they sell out!
We have the wonderful privilege of welcoming Rachael Ffrench to the VetRep team as our new General Manager! We’ve asked Rachael a few questions to introduce her to our community, and we know you’ll love her as much as we do.
What brings you to VetRep and what is your connection with the veteran community?
“I was ready for a lifestyle change having toured on Broadway shows for the last 5 years. My connection with the Veteran community is through my Great Grandfather who served in the Irish Defense Forces.”
What are your passions, hobbies, or things you'd like the VetRep audience know about you?
“My passions are photography and wildlife and hiking the world with my husband - when I am not working I usually have my camera in hand and I have an obsession with Raccoons and bears just to name a few. I am also Irish and was born and raised in Limerick Ireland.”
What are you most excited to bring to VetRep, and what are you most excited to see in the coming year?
“I am excited to bring things I have learned from my theatrical touring days to the team. I am most excited to see Vet Rep grow over the next year and see all the plans come to fruition and most importantly to be a part of that growth.”
Walls are coming down at 139 Main St. in Beacon. It’s a little scary but still very exciting as we get to see our future home stripped down to it’s bones, ready to be built up again. It’s hard to see a pile of bricks and wood and chunks of concrete as progress, but trust us, it’s coming along. Below is a shot we snagged of the space that will eventually become a green room for our actors.
