Yesterday, we reminded you that this was the week of Jason Pizzarello’s Brat, starring Edie Falco and Bob Balaban. And that’s all true - April 14-16. But that’s not all we’ve got going on this week.
The day before we go to Rockland County and Penguin Rep Theatre, we’ll be back at the Principle Gallery in Old Town Alexandria, VA for Savage WonderGround: Three Strangers, our latest immersive art performance.
Inspired by a real events that happened to storyteller Charles McCaffrey (Navy), Three Strangers tells the story of three strangers one fateful night at the Principle Gallery over twenty years ago. It’s not non-fiction, but the actual events are the jumping off point to tell intertwining stories that are poignant and unpredictable and everything in between.
Directed by VetRep artistic director Christopher Paul Meyer (Army), this performance features McCaffrey, singer/songwriter Logan Vath (Navy), poet Dex (USMC), and USMC Artist-in-Residence Kristopher Battles.
As no two shows are the same, this WonderGround has been created to showcase the talents of each artist in an intimate performance that is immersive and multi-faceted. The audience can expect to follow a narrative told in music, spoken word, poetry, and visual art, as the performers and audience move together through the unique gallery space so integral to the story itself.
As with all WonderGround events, there will be a grazing table and refreshments. Tickets are $20 and VetRep shares all proceeds evenly with the artists.
We can’t wait to share this big week with you all. Thanks for coming out and supporting each of these very different offerings - it means a ton to see you there.
Best,
Chris
