"We Lied to Ourselves..."

Enemies to ourselves,
fighting wars
door to door.
Volunteer to battle
ill defined
existential threats.
For who or what,
did we fight?
Lie to ourselves
as we solemnly swore
to protect freedoms
of the freest
of the ever living
FREE.
Run from
internal war,
into the arms
of an “enemy”
who’ll process our pain
one bullet at a time.
And their kids…
and their kids.
