Also not a reason to worry.
The true number of sides is three.
There is of course your side.
Opposed by another side.
That makes two different sides
somewhere in the middle abides
a reasoned, if we are reasonable,
amalgamation of two sides.
Which could reach a sensible
solution that unites rather than divides.
Arthur began his journey in community theater in 1969 and has been acting ever since, performing on stages across Ohio, New York, and Pennsylvania. In 1996, he expanded his creative work to include directing, helming productions at various community theaters throughout Pennsylvania. His directing credits include Dial M for Murder, Mass Appeal, Barefoot in the Park, Wait Until Dark, Bell, Book and Candle, The Price, True West, Seniors of the Sahara, The Prisoner of Second Avenue, Taking Liberties with Peter Rozig, and four of his own original plays.
Also in 1996, Arthur began writing for the stage. His produced works include the two-act comedy A Little Murder on the Side (Scranton), the three-act adaptation A Tale of Two Cities (Providence Playhouse, Scranton), and one-act plays such as Small g, Actor, and To Catch a Cheat. Small g has been performed three times, while Taking Linda received a directed staged reading at the Scranton Fringe Festival.
In total, Arthur has written six full-length plays: A Little Murder on the Side, Nothing is Forever, Let It Be Me, To Catch a Cheat, The Veranda, and Kozie’s Kafe. His one-act plays include Small g, Wrangler, Taking Linda, and Actor, along with a series of short plays such as Waiting for Who?, Bank on It, For the Money, Keeping Secrets, Character Study, and Imagine That.
His original play Thankstaking was produced at the Black Box New Play Festival. He has also adapted literary works for the stage, including A Tale of Two Cities (produced at Providence Playhouse, Scranton) and an in-progress adaptation of The Gadfly. His adaptation of James Joyce’s short story The Dead was given a directed staged reading.
Arthur Walsh continues to write, direct, and engage with the theater community, always finding new stories to tell and new ways to tell them.
