They danced to no music
and sang without voices
they ran barefoot through gravel
and made other strange choices
they played in the thunderstorms
and slept til past noon
they laughed without shame
and thought each day ended too soon
and to some it seemed strange
to some they were insane
to others they made sense
but still they would complain
regardless of excuse
they were too affectionate by far
and many people rolled their eyes
but to this day, it's who they are.
