Upon the canvas the savage brushstroke
left hairs and paint thick upon its face
like burning fires with thick blackening smoke
stain the skies and blot out the stars in space
Do rise and yell so that silence be no more
Do sing and dance and love and sex
Do claw and bite and mark for war
Do offer the axeman our very necks
Let us howl at the moon and run through the wood
Let us chase down the wounded dream before it dies
Let us know that pursuit is all that is good
No treasure or any worth goes to he who never tries
