I ache for the days before responsibilities consumed our lives.
Sunday anxiety creeping in, let’s do everything slightly different.
I want to take you by the hand and drive us far away.
I’d die, and suppose I will, to feel endlessly free with you.
My backs up against the wall, your finger is on the trigger.
Take a shot and leave us flying high, leave the noise far behind.
Let’s get out of town today. Please, lets never settle down.
When you say you miss home, I’ll build one to heart’s content.
By then we might know if home is actually where you make it.
Baby, I need to see your eyes closed, hair flying about,
smiling with one hand out the window, flowing to my favorite songs.
I have my keys, I’m running down the stairs. Love, let me steal you away.
