The Song of Life is the more arduous tune,
for it does not imprint or stain the heart.
Peace is not a spontaneous thing,
it must be sought with grasping breath
as with a distant horizon.
Far simpler to dirty the soul with blood…
nigh impossible to wipe it off.
The goal is worthy, nonetheless,
even if never attained,
for the ones surrounding you in this race
are the things of God.
Cokie has spent well over a decade behind a sniper rifle in service to the U.S. Marine Corps, various private military companies, and the almighty dollar. He has also spent time as a combat medic and a seminary student and now places his identity as a man who serves Christ and loves his wife and children.

Beautiful! So applicable to the times we find ourselves. Although perhaps it is a timeless thought humanity should always hold close, no matter the age.
Thank you!
