Shadows drifted through open
grassland and perished deep into
the clutches of the African bush.
They were greeted by tall trees and
tall grass brushing past them.
Gun dogs, assimilated by the
rolling thunder and heavy rain
that tore flesh apart.
In the end, they became forgotten
scatterlings under the southern
sky.
