The present casts shadows on the past
against a brick wall passed by countless times
a reminder of what it used to take to advertise
overshadowed now by 5G lines
the hand brushed message seen over the years by thousands of eyes
subliminal message of thirst for each customer one at a time
“Progress” scoffs at this brags about the speed of her lies
“In seconds I can sway millions of minds” she’s ignored while I admire the faded painted lines
of an era when there was a personal touch to manipulation
