RADICAL FUN is crashing into the scene like a neon-lit roller derby of chaos and creativity! This isn't your grandma's art gallery—it's a full-throttle explosion of color, rebellion, and pure, unfiltered joy. Expect works that slap you in the face with absurdity, challenge the rules, and celebrate the wild, weird, and wonderful.
Glitchy graffiti? Check. Sculptures that look like they crawled out of a punk rock fever dream? You bet. A vibe that feels like a late-night arcade smashed into a DIY zine fest? Hell yes.
RADICAL FUN brings together 14 fearless visual artists across multiple mediums! Kicking things off, we’ve got the wild genius of Gina Herrera, who transforms scavenged materials into electrifying creations, and Angelo T. Robinson (featured above on our show poster), whose explosive, color-soaked canvases demand attention.
Gina Herrera is a California-based mixed-media artist whose work is deeply influenced by her Native American heritage, military service, and passion for nature. Using found materials, textiles, and metals, she transforms rigid structures into fluid, anthropomorphic sculptures rich with emotion and meaning. Her art explores themes of identity, empathy, and activism, reflecting her role as both an artist and protector of the Earth. Through her unique ability to blend strength and fragility, Herrera invites viewers into a dialogue on transformation, resilience, and the human form.
Angelo T. Robinson is a self-taught interdisciplinary artist based in Madison, Alabama. A former U.S. Navy Seabee, his global travels have deeply influenced his vibrant, spiritually rich work. Blending found objects, bold compositions, and vivid colors, his art explores identity, resilience, and the human experience. Rooted in both military and spiritual influences, his creations invite viewers into an interactive dialogue, challenging perceptions and bridging traditional and modern mediums.
Get ready to unlearn, unhinge, and unleash—RADICAL FUN is here to wreck the ordinary and make mischief with meaning. Opening May 10th at the Savage Wonderground Art Gallery. Bring your best chaos energy.
