Pressing my head into the mat
Hoping this exchange fully grounds me into this reality
In a child’s pose with hips wishing to pin to the foundation
I’m denied true synergy due to my own lack of flexibility
My hope is that through force and direct pressure I find myself fully grounded
With the roots of a thousand year old tree
Completely unshakeable from the storms on the surface
Of course though I’m reminded how foolish I am
Arrogantly thinking blind pressure is the solution
So I take a moment and gather slow intentional breaths
In
Hold
Out
Hold
As the tension drips off like beads of sweat I can’t help but feel
The wound up muscles of mine loosening to allow my hips to spread wider with a smooth calmness
But also in this moment I feel the fibers of my soul
Penetrate the ground
Inching slowly but with purpose
into the soil as roots with strong motive
I try to sit in this moment forever
Maybe I can achieve it all in one session and not have to work
And work
And work
Toiling forever at this process
How silly am I?
This is the never ending path
The way forward for peace
With each time opening up myself just that much more
To weather a bit more of the storms
