what can I do with all the Polaroids
taped to my wall?
when I caught your smile,
hair blowing in the wind
on that mountain highway.
i could have crashed on that hairpin turn
and been happy to capture you in a moment.
lay me down on the cold hard ground.
make me remember the smell of your hair and
the desert sage.
the shooting stars and the dreams we made.
though we’ll never be,
the memories live on in beautiful lives.
our love immortalized.
