He is
cut out of all the universe
In front of me like a book page
I read twice
and go back again
I have reached the end
of a paragraph
I do not remember starting
Have I not paid enough attention
Have I
two lemon slices in a sparkling water
tastes like everything
Everything is the flavor of his mouth
it breathes loud and out
Where I hear canyon wind
howling soft, and late
In the joint of his neck
where his conch shell collar has made space
to store the voice of his grief
Grief he shares with only me
lead-weight burdens
laid in the bed of my
mother-tempered tenderness
head beneath my hands and rivers
down my bare chest
watering the innocent hope
a mother to a son
will stitch him just the right way
He is
the Bright Star in the universe
in front of me like a marathoner
leaving sweat and heavy breath
in every corner of my home
He brought his own keys
He walked in, in the daylight
Dex is a poet and former USMC Military Police Officer. She also happens to be the Managing Producer here at VetRep. Although primarily a poet, Dex also paints, and will be joining us for Savage WonderGround: GHOST STORY to create live paintings as the show plays on.
VetRep is thrilled to present “What the Butler Saw” for the month of October. Dr. Prentice, a psychiatric doctor in an exclusive private clinic, is attempting to interview (and seduce) an attractive would-be secretary, Geraldine. Unwittingly surprised by his wife, he hides the girl. The affairs multiply as Mrs. Prentice, being seduced and blackmailed by young bellhop Nicholas Beckett, has promised him the secretarial post. When a government inspector arrives, chaos, underpants, and cross-dressing lead the charge. Tickets have been selling out, reserve yours early before they’re gone!
