Our first Savage WonderGround is in the books!
Friday night was our very first Savage WonderGround and it was an absolutely incredible performance. The premise of our show rested on three paintings by the artist Invader Girl, which each performer used to inspire hard-hitting, original work. We were privileged to hear pieces from Dex, William Bolyard, Jesus Daniel Hernandez, and our own Artistic Director, Chris Meyer. We pulled on some pretty taught heart-strings, but what else would you expect from a group of incredibly talented veteran artists who aren’t afraid to go for the throat when they step out on stage.
Major thanks to The Principle Gallery of Old Town, Alexandria for hosting us, and their wonderful staff for supporting us! Another thank you goes out to Levi West, our photographer and videographer of the event, who happens to be a featured writer on our blog and active duty Marine. Make sure you’re following us on the VetRep social as well as Savage WonderGround so you don’t miss everything we captured from the performance!
Didn’t make it to the show, or just want to support the art? You can donate to Veterans Repertory Theater and help us produce more events just like this in a city near you.
