“Wrap it up, I’ll eat it here”
I sit down and sip my beer
Two days back off a fresh arrest
From a wild night I won’t protest
Brush the sand from my hair
I think back
Back to a tequila moonlit night
Beautiful woman on my right
Played in the ocean
Skin on skin
Rolled on the sand making fresh new sin
Blonde hair flowing with the music
She sure knew how to use it
Cops would pick us up,
Too much drink underway
I would get taken away
She picked me up just past one
Stayed up all night till the rising sun
I know she will never be my wife
Finish my sandwich
Buy a bottle
Got to go home and finish a novel

Join us every Saturday through June for Gnit, by Will Eno, a cautionary tale about, among other things, how the opposite of love is laziness. Gnit is a faithful, unfaithful, and willfully American reading of Henrik Ibsen’s Peer Gynt, a 19th century Norwegian play famous for all the wrong reasons. Settle in with a delicious mocktail and dessert, and be sure to get your tickets early or they might just sell out.
