Really enjoyed talking to my friend, longtime National Review writer and editor Jay Nordlinger about Afghanistan. Jay is a real character - one of the most erudite, cultured, articulate men you’ll ever meet. But what I’ve always respected about him is his fierce defense of human rights, freedom and western liberal democracy. It was an honor that he asked me to share my thoughts and experiences pertaining to Afghanistan and I hope I did our friends on the ground there some good.
