Potholed asphalt provides
broken respite.
City skyline hangs upon
aching shoulders.
Gray moody sky within
calloused hands reach.
Bloodshot eyes look over
billowing white…
industrialized clouds.
Sulfuric scent.
Cold acid rain drips down
winters pale skin.
Broken and vacant hearts
cannot decide.
They’re suffocating in
Midwestern towns.
