Before us, the river of filth swelters
And snakes among the haven of bandits.
Bastard children who seem to have been
Forgotten by the essence of love.
Tribal wars rage under the fire
Of the glowing sun.
No guilt is felt as the martyrs
Pillage their castles built upon catacombs.
As we walk into the palace of thieves
The darkness around us breathes,
Wielding weapons and hatred
Unfathomable to my ignorance.
This place was once golden
And soaked with the glory of man.
It’s where civilization took its first breath
Where humanity swelled inside its lungs.
But now I look around and realize
How corrupt divinity can become.
Black tar poured on to the golden idols,
Laced with the poison of hate.
This is a war-infested land
Where we must escape
or die trying.
Who can save this hate riddled place?
Who can shift its nature?
