i would rather do something
than be someone
because if you chase the image
the great “gotta be” in the sky
the status
you’ll never do anything
and that’s the truest sin
the greatest blasphemy
is to spend your days
all laid out before you
in fear of never being enough
the supreme idolatry
like Babylon the Great
are the Robes we give our self
shouting into the void that
we are somebody
greater is he
who puts bread in the mouth of those
who are hungry
than he who boasts about how
generous he is.
