I thrive in a sphere
Of degeneracy,
Grit and grime
Coat me.
Like scabs over scars-
Don’t look at me.
My survival was primal,
Running with apes,
Our homes were the caves
Where nomads were raised-
We don’t belong
Here
Anymore.
We’ve stepped out of the tower
And into the streets,
The aroma of garbage, the stares
from the thieves
Find comfort in filth,
Embrace the debris.
I thrive in this sphere
Of degeneracy.
