I am pressed flowers on the pages of worn novels
I am the smell of campfire and the first sip of coffee
I am afternoon lovemaking
and a porch swing in autumn's sunset I am bourbon savored and honey flavored words
and I am every shade and shadow of blue
I am the lines of that one song
and the curves of a country back road
I am goddess and mortal
siren and valkyrie
I am fantasy and truth
the muse of many and none I am hope and warmth and calm
and enough chaos to remind you what you’re made of
I am sway and still
and smiles you'd forgotten
a little bit of danger and second chances a mother, a poet, a lover, a friend a home and hearth
somewhere to build your life within I am and have been only mine
and for so long in this way
no one else’s but now
wholly and entirely
for all of this
for all I will be
and have been
because you saw what was left
and so much more
that I and they
never did
I am yours
