Can we play it?
In the day
And the eve
The looks and the appeal
Don’t compare
To the selfish moments no one else gets to see
I’ll beg
Borrow
And steal
Just for those sweet
Genuine
And true moments of who you actually are
I’ll take the soft cotton
Over the intricate lace
If it means your soft smile the next morning
It feels so natural
And sweet
And true
There’s all kinds of chases in this world
Searching high and ever so low
But I think at its end it’s for this
That’s what I truly want
What I crave so deeply
Not only in this moment but always
I just hope that in moment when we first meet
If we haven’t already
That I know you are who I want to play house with
