There is magic
In that bend of
The Hudson River
Granite stones wooed us
With the promise of
Being a part of history
Hallowed ground
Fed by generations
Of those too young
To place limits
On what they would sacrifice
The oaths we made with words
Differed from the ones
That grew in our hearts
Our battlefields
Would change
But our service
Would never falter
