Please
Just as you are
In this moment
I ask with utmost kindness
For you not to move an inch
I just need to pull out my camera
Set the aperture low (just you is all that’s needed in focus)
Adjust the shutter to keep the iso low
Because in this instant
You look perfect
Sweet
Kind
And full of joyful life
I know that this split second is fleeting
The smiles will shift
To sorrow
But in this moment I can look back and pretend
That this is the steady state
I need those glossy 5x7’s more than ever
As my fingers trace the hues
I can disconnect from the present
Even if for only a moment
