Doc Wells Was the one who told me I had ghosts when I kept having a recurring dream about five or six dead Iraqis who would surround me on the roof of the COP. In the dream my radio didn't work and I was completely alone.
The Iraqis never did anything beside stare at me, but on mornings after having the dream I would wake up feeling as if I hadn't slept at all.
The dream came and went over the course of several months and then it stopped.
But I can still remember all their faces, the various wounds on their shattered bodies, their accusing stares.
Wells was the only person I ever told about the dreams, he acted like it was normal.
