Locked in this cage
Inside this empty shell
Through his eyes,
I scream for release,
In the quiet hours,
The storm rages inside,
I beat my fists in this cage,
Wanting to be released,
I hear sounds,
Sounds of Army men yelling at him,
The chaos is too much,
My cage is open,
I am released,
I am unleashed,
The sounds of chaos,
The sounds of gunfire,
I feel at home,
His hands,
Are an extension of my will,
His heart,
Is an extension of my resolve
His mind,
An extension of my resilience,
My senses heightened,
I see,
I smell,
I hear all,
My instincts as sharp as the tip of a spear,
I help him survive,
I help him fight,
I am born from war
