i’m supposed to be celebrating
the violence today
the buddy rushing
and door kicking
but all I hear are rusty wedding bells
in my head
i’m supposed to be sharpening my axe
against the grindstone of my
hate and discontent
ready to slit throats and collect scalps
but all I see are dusty aisles
and wilted flowers
long live the infantry
gunfire
whiskey blues
black hearts
long live the infamy
uncivil war
broken hearts
white lace
