An Age of Disruption
Calloused hands take the reins.
Fortune favors inheritance,
Perpetuating a dreadful ignorance
As human lives are whisked away.
If we gaze upon the reflecting pools,
Will we learn to accept the damning truths?
Are you here to help or to harm?
To serve a greater cause than all of this?
Do you live for an after life,
Or dream of a legacy?
What happens when we die?
Many things.
I never claimed to acknowledge
The existence of free will,
Gifted to us by the dreamers
Nestled peacefully in their slumber.
I create the violence that surrounds me,
And project emotions profoundly
A primal instinct I can’t escape from.
Will you see me for the values I’ve portrayed?
How will you know me when I have gone away?
I exist in an age of disruption,
A paradox of many incomprehensible things.
Such is the nature of our consciousness.
